Every prize is a separate draw with its own gate, its own entrants and its own winner. The land draw — a parcel in Shaqlawa — is open now; any future draw will appear here before it takes a single entry. Nothing will stop you entering more than one.
The largest prize we offer, and the slowest to fill. Every entry in this draw has an equal chance at the parcel — and this draw awards nothing else.
A 200 m² parcel in Shaqlawa, 45 km northeast of Hewlêr, in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. When the draw closes, the winner receives a contract according to the land type, and registration begins in a real person's name.
Smaller gates, so they close sooner and pay out sooner. Same dollar, same rules, separate pool — an entry here is not an entry in the land draw.
Every draw runs this on its own, with its own entrants and its own seed. You can recompute any of them yourself.
When a draw's gate fills we publish sha256 of its sorted ticket list — before any random seed exists. That hash proves nobody added or removed an entry afterwards. Each draw has its own list; entries in one draw are not in another.
The value comes from drand, a public randomness beacon run by an independent group of organisations, which publishes a new signed value every 30 seconds. The exact round is announced in advance, so the number that decides the draw does not exist when the entries are sealed. There is no second roll we could quietly re-run.
The winning slot comes from that value by repeated HMAC-SHA256, discarding any result that falls outside the pool so every entry is exactly equally likely.
Seed, pool hash and the exact procedure go on the transparency page, per draw. Same inputs, same winner, every time. If our published result doesn't match your recomputation, we're caught.

At its announced time, a public randomness beacon publishes the value that picks its winner. The smaller gates fill first, so those are the ones that pay out first. There is no way to enter a draw after its gate closes.
